Youth Sunday School

Sunday  Youth  Cafe  (grades  9 – 12) meets every Sunday during the 10:30am service. The session includes Bible-based studies and small group discussions.

Youth explore the Biblical teachings on topics relevant to their daily lives, including learning about relationships, growing in their faith, and dealing with loss. They are given tools to help them discern God’s purpose for their life, and Bible-based strategies to deal with the stresses of peer pressure and competition as they prepare for post-high school education or the world of work.

Each class ends with circling up in prayer as the youth thank God for their joys and ask Him for
help with their struggles.

 CLAIM THE NAME, CHRISTIAN!

Confirmation Class  meets every Sunday during the 10:30 AM service.  This  class is designed for youth  planning on being confirmed in the  spring.  The curriculum is offered every other year, alternating with a 7th/8th grade Sunday School class, and includes  in-depth  studies of  the Bible  and the traditions of the United Methodist Church.

The word confirmation means “with firmness.” For the seventh and eighth grade youth (or any interested high school youth) at LUMC, confirmation means a continuation of their lifelong faith journey. Confirmation classes include an overview of the Christian faith, Scripture, history and heritage, practices, beliefs and commitments as United Methodist Christians. Confirmation provides a loving environment in which young people can explore the faith and experience it through the Christian community, forming relationships with other youth and mentors, spiritual disciplines, service and other activities. We invite you to join us on our journey as we Claim the Name
