SERVE
The mission of Loveland UMC’s Missions in Motion Ministry Team is “Through selected outreach activities, ensure that every member of LUMC can use their God-given abilities to reach out to others on a local, national, and international level.”
Our ministry team’s guiding scripture for all that we do in preparing for Mission Outreach is:
The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it for me.’ Matthew25:40
Our Missions team meets the third Tuesday of each month. To get connected with this ministry, please email Jim Knight @ jknight316@cinci.rr.com.

BERNIE’S PLACE
Bernie’s Place is a homeless shelter in South Lebanon that houses up to 16 adults at a time. We have developed a relationship with this local ministry over the past year through visits, preparation of meals (periodically) and assistance with items needed for the residents. To connect, contact Barb Wieman @ 722-9564 or email Barb.
CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE
Each year in late November, we decorate a “Giving Tree” in our Gathering Area adorned with tags noting a Christmas gift requested for a child/adult in need in our community. Gifts are purchased and brought to the church, unwrapped. Loveland families in need, are invited to come “shopping” and select donated items for their Christmas celebration. Opportunities to serve during the “shopping days” are also available. This project is sponsored by many churches and businesses in the community. To connect contact Karen Knight.

Loveland Churches : Habitat for Humanity Coalition
It’s with joy that the Missions team announces LUMC’s partnership in the Loveland Churches Habitat for Humanity Coalition!
Beginning in June and continuing through Septemer (16 weeks), Loveland UMC, along with 7 other Loveland churches as well as the City of Loveland, are partnering with prayer, financial support and hands on labor to rehab a house in Loveland for a family in need.

L.I.F.E. FOOD PANTRY
L.I.F.E. {Loveland International Food Effort} is a ministry we support, along with other local churches, for the purpose of providing food and emergency financial aid to those in need. Our food stand, located in the Gathering Area, serves as a weekly drop off point for donations to the pantry. A listing of “needs for the week” is provided through “The Happenings” (Sunday morning publication found in the worship bulletin) and our weekly email newsletter. We also coordinate local neighborhood food drives in the Spring, Summer, and Fall, giving congregation members a “hands on” outreach, in support of L.I.F.E. To connect contact Karen Knight.
Food Pantry Needs for the week of May 14th
L.I.F.E. Food Pantry needs are bar soap, dishwashing liquid and shampoo. Thank you for supporting the LIFE food pantry and a special thanks to those who donated in the months of March and April and helped us as we participated in the Feinstein challenge.
RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
Drop your soda can tabs in the cardboard “house box” sitting on the Mission’s Give Wire Rack Shelves in the Gathering Area. Tabs are recycled for cash donations for Cincinnati’s Ronald McDonald House—a home away from home for families of children with serious illnesses who are undergoing treatment at nearby medical facilities. Members of our church also serve at the house on a regular basis. To connect contact Karen Knight.
SERVE OUR SENIORS
Serve our Seniors is a “hands on” outreach where senior members of our congregation are invited to request assistance (yardwork, window washing, light maintenance, etc) from our serve team. Teams are formed and sent out in small groups to serve our seniors. This outreach is offered in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. To connect, contact Pat Blankenship @ 683-1738 or email Pat.
WESLEY CHILD CARE
The United Methodist Women (U.M.W.) and our Missions in Motion Ministry Team coordinate opportunities to serve the Wesley Child Care Center (W.C.C.C.). The center provides quality childcare to over 150 families. By providing supplies and giving our time to freshen up the facility and grounds we make help share God’s love with those at W.C.C.C. The Campbell Soup label bag, in the Gathering Area, is a drop off point for labels which support the center. To connect contact Bud Albrecht.
EMERGENCY RELIEF EFFORT
We support local, national and international emergency relief efforts through UMCOR ( United Methodist Committee on Relief). Currently we are helping to support the Haitian Relief Effort. In addition to the “Hands On: opportunities to serve in the relief effort noted at the top of this page, we are also supporting the response to Haiti through financial contributions and donations of health kits. To find out more about these current efforts, please click here.
Providing Relief for the Tornado Victims

FESTIVAL OF SHARING
Every September, LUMC joins with all the churches in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church to provide school supplies, layette and health kits, flood buckets and food boxes to those in need. This is a local, national and international opportunity to share with others. To connect contact Jim Knight or Bud Albrecht.
MISSION TRIPS
National and International mission trips are coordinated through our Mission Team. Offerings are announced early each year and take place over the Spring and/or Summer months. Recent trips include the Henderson Settlement in Frakes, KY and Juarez, Mexico.
Henderson Build 2012
Henderson Settlement is an organization of the UMC, reaching out to Bell County, KY…one of the 10 most economically challenged areas in the USA.
LUMC has supported the SOWER Mission, which builds houses for folks in desperate need in the Henderson Settlement service area, for more than 5 years. Last year, through God’s grace and your loving generosity, LUMC was able to raise enough $36,000 to fully fund the construction of a house. This was a blessing, in that it not only resulted in the fulfillment of an ‘impossible’ dream for Wilma Mays, but it also served to inspire other congregations providing volunteers for the project. Thanks be to God and to our extended Christian family!
This year, we will be collaborating with more than 5 other Ohio churches to raise the $40,000 and 70 volunteer effort-weeks that it requires to construct a house. The good news is that we are very close towards meeting our financial goal.
Prayerfully consider supporting this year’s program financially. You can do this by indicating Henderson Settlement on the ‘Other’ category of your offering envelope. Our Treasurer will direct the money to the correct Missions Team account. Any amount you feel moved to contribute will be a blessing and a help to ensure a house is built in 2012.
Also consider being a part of one of the build-week teams. To learn more about the registration process, please contact the church @ 683-1738 or email Jim Knight at jknight316@cinci.rr.com.
We’re really looking forward to the blessing God has in store this year for our extended Christian family, and for the folks in the Henderson Settlement Service area.
