NewsLIFE's Collection for Feinstein Foundation's $1 Million Challenge to Feed the HungryNon-perishable food items or monetary donations can be made to LIFE during the months of March and April to support this challenge. Food items donated in response to the Challenge will be valued at $1 per item and included in our totals. The total amount of food donations and money collected will be reported to the Feinstein Foundation. The Foundation will donate $1 million to be divided among participating agencies based on the percentage of food and money collected. LIFE uses the money donated by the Feinstein Foundation to buy food for the LIFE Pantry which helps to feed the hungry in our own community. The LIFE Food Pantry served approxiamtely 5,191 clients, reaching 1,843 households, in 2009. This is an increase of 9% from the previous year.
