Journey to the Tomb – Good Friday Outreach, April 2nd; 12–3 pm and 6-9 pm

LUMC'S Dramadaries (Drama Ministry Team) Announces Plans for a Good Friday presentation of - Journey to the Tomb, based on the Gospel of Matthew. This 10 station, walk- thru journey, is a free gift to our community and a way for us to serve together through the sharing of our gifts and time to help "connect the unconnected with the transforming love of Jesus" through presenting the Gospel message! Ways to serve: include drama, music, construction/set-up; costumes; advertising; and hospitality.

The Journey to the Tomb is a presentation of the Gospel accounts of the Passion Story of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We'll be “constructing” Jerusalem (10 walk–thru stations) on our church campus (2 stations will be outside and 8 will be inside). This offering will be set up similar to The Living Nativity. There will be a tour guide, Matthew, and 10 short vignettes/stations reflecting Jesus' journey to the cross.

Persons of all ages are invited to be a part of this outreach, which we pray will have an impact on the lives of many. This drama has both non-speaking and speaking parts. Also, there are singing parts as well.

We'll have 1 mandatory rehearsal on Sat., March 27th from 8:30 - 9:30 am for the entire cast and then a dress rehearsal on Maundy Thursday (April 1st) from 6:15 - 6:45 pm for scenes 1 and 6 (scenes including children and/or youth) and at 8:15-9:00 pm for scenes 4,5,and 7- immediately following our 7:00 pm Maundy Thursday Worship Service. The remaining scenes 2,3,8,9,10 will not require an additional rehearsal outside of March 27th.

Outside of the drama and music, there are many ways in which you can support and be involved in this outreach. You will be hearing about these other opportunities in the weeks to come…right now, we’re focusing on our drama needs to obtain commitment for both performances of the Journey to the Tomb.
